Upper Playground Apparel !!!
If you live in San Francisco, you have probably heard of Upper Playground in the lower Haight. It's the umbrella for an art gallery, film production studio, retail store, book publisher, toy producer, furniture producer and all around haven for noted and up and coming artists from around the world. On any given art show opening, Skullbrainers and Super 7 staff can be found hanging outside their Fifty24SF gallery. Dora Drimalas, the other half to Brian Flynn, has many designs on sale at Upper Playground as well....
This New Era hat is designed by Alex Pardee: from his website: Alex Pardee’s unique style is one conceived through watching years of horror movies, writing graffiti, and listening to gangster rap. His work best represents that of avibrant undead circus sideshow. Final pieces are often brought to life by translating random shapes and colors into signs of torment and absurdity. By juxtaposing these two conflicting moods, Alex makes his works more personal to his viewers, forcing them to project their own feelings and emotions onto each character in his twisted universe.
I recently purchased this hoody designed by The Date Farmers, Carlos Ramirez and Armando Lerma of Coachella Valley often collaborate in their art, collage, drawings, and words on discarded signs. Reminiscent of Mexican Revolutionary posters, Ramirez and Lerma explore the essential reality of the roots of California past and present culture.. I've gotta say that this is one of the best hoodies i've ever worn...heavy, thick, soft and luxurious. I'm wearing it as I type. I could sleep in this thing. Amazing quality with every single design element embroidered into huge patches. At only $80, this beats the shit out of a $400 Bounty Hunter hoodie or any of the other outrageously priced crap on Hypebeast.
Do yourself a favor and check out the retail store if you live in the Bay Area. If not, you gotta go to their online store and grab you some hi-quality hoodies and caps!!!
