CURE x James Groman Boogie Man

What the fuck is this??!! We've known about this Cure Toys collaboration with monster master James Groman for a while now, but this is the first picture i've seen. Holy crap this is creepy looking. Brain Bug says it all. Some nutty insectoid squishy brain head. Interested in seeing what the gimmicks and accessories will be.

CURE Mini THORN BALL MAN and T-Shirt

CURE Mini THORN BALL MAN

The mini toy and t-shirt combo pack are in full effect in Japan. This time it's CURE with the uber-popular THORN BALL MAN in mini form. Since it's probably made by SECRET BASE, i'm goin to guess it's around 4" tall as well. I would like to see a bunch of different colorways like the Devilman sets. This all black set can be ordered for only ¥4,000 at 5YP. Thanks for the heads up gomora63!

CURE Thorn Ball-Man

CURE Thorn Ball Man

I've said it once, i'll say it again, CURE knows how to keep it fresh. This latest collaboration with the Japanese band "Thorn" is the latest example. They take the Boogie-Man body and each release change out a few elements like guts, limbs, head, mask, weapons, etc. Plus they pace out their releases so that each one is unique and not just six colorways of the same toy. Pretty sure they are not making much of their investment back, but who makes toys for the money?

Thorn Ball-Man has a new broken left arm with a gold pimp ring, 80's style shorts, a Mad Ball style head, but what makes this release stand apart is the spikey helmet and hammer complete with chain. Great toy.

Interesting. If this new claw hand is any indication, the rest of the figure should be sick, sick, sick. Upcoming collaboration between horror-meister James Groman and fan favorite, CURE Toys. As usual, really looking forward to the next CURE toy!

CURE Thorn Ball-Man 1st Full Color Ver Revealed..!!

CURE Thorn Ball Man 1st Full Color version

Get ready CURE fans..!!! 1st Full Color Ver. is revealed...!! Looks like it will be an open order from 7/23 to 7/31. The toy will be delivered 9/4 and will retail for ¥10,400 or around $135. Hmmmm, not exactly cheap. damn exchange rate is killing us. Fan overseas will pre-order from Secret Base. Details soon.

I like the colorway of course. Purple and green are awesome. The hammer and spikey helmet with chain rules. The cast with the bone sticking out threw me for a bit, but I like the detailed painting of the brass knucks. Trying to figure out what the 80's skater shorts say.

CURE Thorn Ball-Man 1st Full Color. Made to Order

Cure Thorn Ball-Man

Our buddy Joe in Japan posted this flyer from CURE that shows the 1st Full Color Thorn Ball-Man will be made to order. They will be taking orders from July 23rd to July 31st and delivery will be made by Sept. 4th. ¥9,800. I'm guessing the 1st Full Color will not be solid black so we will see. I like the little chain on the spikey helmet. Really looking forward to this release. Check back on details on how to pre-order. More than likely, it will be through Lulubell Toys

Awesome...!! Unfortunately for you completists out there, it will only be released on July 2nd at the THORN "Babel" tour final at the Cyclone in Shibuya. ¥9,000

Really looking forward to a fully painted release.

CURE Spooky Boogie plus Gee: Medicom Project 1/6 Exclusive...!

Cure Boogie Man, Project 1/6 Exclusive

I'm a HUGE fan of CURE Toys, but one of the few I did not pull the trigger on is the first version of this Spooky Boogie. What I love about Cure Toys is the gimmicks. Either a mask with weapon or inserts. In the case of Spooky Boogie, I like the skeleton but not the gimmick which is the bedsheet or Gee. I think if the Gee was transparent, it would be more appealing. As it now, the Gee covers up the best part. Yes, I know it's supposed to look like a ghost.

I do like the colors of this Project 1/6 Exclusive. Orange and Purple look quite nice. But at $150 for the set, it's not cheap either. Buys yours now HERE

NEW CURE THORN BALL-MAN Preview...!!

Cure Thorn Ball Man

Coming July 2nd as part of the THORN "Babel" Tour Final in Shibuya. I'm really hoping the spikey bit on the head is removable like a helmet or mask. From this picture it looks like it does. The giant spiked hammer is awesome. The broken left arm is a nice touch. I haven't been this excited for a Cure figure in a while..!!

CURE Boogie-Man New Sculpt?

CURE new sculpt

Joe in Japan scored this sweet sneak peek at CURE's new figure. Cure does it right. Good pace and awesome variety. They don't make 25 colorways of the same toy. Looks like we get new arms, head and an awesome weapon. Looks too big to hold actually. Some kind of hammer? I am crossing my fingers and toes that true to form, the spikey bit on the head is some kind of mask or helmet. Good news according to Joe in Japan is that there will be less stress since the first release will be made to order....! yay! Look for your domestic pre-order from our pals at Lulubell

Micronaut x Henshin Cyborg Customs by Guy Redwing

Microman x Henshin Cyborg Customs

I love Micronauts. I love Henshin Cyborg. When Guy Redwing of the site www.visibleinnard.org customizes Henshin Cyborgs to look like the classic Micronauts of your childhood, it's WIN..!!!

Guy made direct tributes to the Micronaut aliens using Cure, Secret Base and Dark Side Hero Toys parts.

CURE Brain Bug Boogie-Man by James Groman..!

James Groman for Cure

Kontact over at Skullbrain found this flyer showing the next Boogie-Man head sculp by Cleveland based Artist James Groman. Gotta hand it to Cure. They know how to keep it fresh.

Check out this Zombot Ghoul. You can buy this as an unpainted resin kit for $225. Spendy and has that MacFarlane vibe loud and clear, but still cool.
