Grasshut at SDCC 2011...!!!

Gargamel Day 1 SDCC 2011

One could call the Grasshut gang the US arm of Gargamel. They make toys together, they live together and hang out together an awful lot. Bwana, Le Merde, Arbito, Martin Ontiveros, Kiyoshi Nakazawa came to SDCC 2011 and did not disappoint.

Kiyoshi Nakazawa is the man this year for two reasons: One: he got his own Gargamel toy, the FU Robo. Two: He had a Drunken Master signing with Josh Motherfucking Barnett.

Arbito Love....

The very first painted Patty Power!

This weekend was the release of the first fully painted production Super7Monster Family Arbito Patty Powers blogged here last week

To commemorate the event, Jesse painted up a few more one-off Patties that pretty much sold instantly on his web store. I'm hoping the green and purple below show up as a future Super 7 production colorway cause it rules.

Know what else rules? These Tanks Jesse made for SDCC that I ran out of money to purchase. More to come....!

Arbito's Patty Power Arrives

I like this latest Monster Family figure a lot. This colorway especially captures Jesse's resin pieces. It's tricky to make one's beloved characters deformed into Monster Family proportions. The overall stumpiness is challenging, but I still like it.

Arbito's space traveling sandwich made its unpainted debut this summer at the San Diego Comic Con. Since then the cosmic burger has journeyed to the most psychedelic reaches of the galaxy, and returned looking far out.

Available Saturday, September 11, 11am Pacific.

Press and Fan Favorites from the Monsters in the Mangroves Custom Toy and Art Show at Super 7 Florida!!

Arbito x Hollis Stink Fry

What a great turn out for Super7Florida "Monsters in the Mangroves" Custom Toy and Art show this past Saturday. According to all the attendees, it was the best show ever to be held at S7 Florida. It's awesome to see this store gather the same kinds of enthusiastic crowds as the SF store.

Missed the show? Incredibly, there are a number of awesome custom pieces still available...!! Check out the Super 7 Florida Online Store

Today we pay homage to the custom toys that won favor with not only the "toy press", but also the fans attending the show. Notice all three winners are part of the infamous Grasshut Corp cabal. First place went to Arbito's Hollis Stink Fry. Jesse who is good buds with Le Merde likes to put his Stink Fry persona on any number of different toys. I love it.

2nd place goes to Bwana Spoons and his Mummy Dragamel Gator. It's cool how one little piece can change a toy so much.

3rd place goes to Cometdebris and his "How is this not a production colorway?" Zagaron.
