KAWS Companion Resting Place Preview..!!

120808_05

Who doesn't want another Companion? This Dissected Companion is resting as if on a picnic....lol... According to KAWS Facebook page, it's dropping this week. ¥25,200 at Originalfake which puts it at around $325 when it hits KAWSONE.com. I'm wondering if it's in the same scale as the original Dissected or smaller? For this kind of money, I hope it's the same size. The problem when then be about real estate as it will take up a lot of shelf space. I like it and will probably try to get one, but not holding my breath as the Kawsone servers will probably melt as usual. Looking forward to the black colorway.

MEDICOM Devilman Repros

Medicom Devilman Repros

Medicom is about to release two interesting Devilman reproductions from the 70's in celebration of Devilman / Mazinger Z 40th Anniversary. What do you guys think about Repros? For many, the 1972 Devilman repro above is grail material. One collectors who lives in Japan has mentioned that he's been there 20 years, and has NEVER even seen the vintage Devilman above. Wow. Are repros good or bad for the hobby? I suppose it depends on who you ask. Hardcore vintage collectors may scoff at these repros, but personally I think they are great. It gives the vast, vast majority of collectors the opportunity to obtain (a reproduction of) the unobtainable. But will the flood of these somehow diminish the mythical allure of these vintage gems? I don't think so. For those that have the original, they are still the real deal. But there is something to be said that perhaps somebody searching for the original will somehow be satisfied with the repros? Maybe, maybe not. Conversely, there are those that get the repros and are so smitten with them that their hunt for the original increases? perhaps. Regardless, i'm getting both of them. I hear they will be available for pre-order in September for ¥7,800 yen each.

Target Earth x Medicom Exclusive "Soutou Genjin"

targetearth

What do you think about this new "SoutouGenjin" figure from Target Earth? It reminds me of that toy that tried to capture that original Bemon magic but it had legs or something. Ironically, Target Earth is clearly going after that elusive Two-Headed Bemon market. Unfortunately, it's not quite the same as the original. The cyclops heads don't do it for me.

Kamen Rider Villians at Project 1/6

But if you just like two-headed toys, you can pre-order by going HERE. ¥8,400 plus shipping. Due out in September.

Now here's what i'm talking about. Picture and example courtesy of Rudebeast

CURE Spooky Boogie plus Gee: Medicom Project 1/6 Exclusive...!

Cure Boogie Man, Project 1/6 Exclusive

I'm a HUGE fan of CURE Toys, but one of the few I did not pull the trigger on is the first version of this Spooky Boogie. What I love about Cure Toys is the gimmicks. Either a mask with weapon or inserts. In the case of Spooky Boogie, I like the skeleton but not the gimmick which is the bedsheet or Gee. I think if the Gee was transparent, it would be more appealing. As it now, the Gee covers up the best part. Yes, I know it's supposed to look like a ghost.

I do like the colors of this Project 1/6 Exclusive. Orange and Purple look quite nice. But at $150 for the set, it's not cheap either. Buys yours now HERE
