The last entry into RESTORE Japan Debris Custom Contest is from none other than SKULL TOYS. wow, what a custom! SKULL TOYS intricate pen work on such a small toy is impressive. The Skull / Tribal look goes well with the sculpt. I also like how his loin cloth is from the Doku Rocks collaboration with RealxHead. Really awesome..!
Crap. iluilu's latest toy Dr. Goertz and his Weapons are going to be hot. New releases for Super Festival 58 and I expect them to go fast, fast, fast. Really small though. What probably should be a standard 9" figure is less than 6" tall..! Gonna be expensive. ¥8,900 retail or around $120.00... ouch! Comes with tiny Dr. Goertz. The clear dome with the exposed brains does it for me.
The Toy Atlas Rainbow is an art piece made with 2,500 toy cars by UK artist David T. Waller. This is a lot of cars. One wonders how many are Hot Wheels vs Match Box or others? Are all the colors true to the original cars? How did he collect all of them?
Chachipower built this kit from Fujimi. It's the Spinner from "Blade Runner" Surely one of the coolest vehicles of all time. I like the LED's and the weathering. Nice..!
ok, this is seriously geeky but in a holiday sort of way. "Gingerbreadtron" built by Brian Hall. Well done.
My transformers inspired gingerbread house. For more pictures and how we built it visit http://brianhall.ca/gingerbreadtron. Edit: Just to clarify: the outside of the house is made of real gingerbread and candy attached via icing to a cardboard frame. You can see some of the cardboard after it transforms. The gingerbread and candy was very tasty although it was a little tricky to pull off.
The best part about this new ES Alloy Gaiking set? You can take pieces from Gaiking, Raiking and Balking to form Gaiking the Great...! Just like the anime. How awesome is that? Pre-order sent.
I've been on the fence with Fewture's ES Alloy series. Nothing really has grabbed my attention...until NOW. Gaiking, Raiking and Balking SD set. This is right up my alley. One of those toys that I knew I had to have. Only about 5 inches tall, but stacked with attitude. Looks to be a mix of die-cast and PVC.
Due out late June 2012, but You can pre-order the Gaiking for ¥3,690 ($51.50) at at AmiAmi
Raiking and Balking come in a set.
You can pre-order the Raiking and Balking set for ¥5,980 ($83.00) from AmiAmi
Compressed visual narratives are Tomer Hanuka's stock-in-trade and his ability to tell vast and vivid stories with single panes of artwork is nothing short of remarkable. He???s an illustrator by occupation, but his book covers, comics and editorial renderings transcend that title. In Overkill, he's selected some of his most vividly drawn and intensely colorful work, juxtaposing intense imagery with a truly unique palette - filling the book's 104 pages with intricate tales told through illustrations.
Upper Playground is also re-releasing two tees from Tomer Hanuka coinciding with the release of the book, Pie-Axe and Birds.
"Overkill" features 85 detailed illustrations and measures 9.5" x 12.5" in hardcover.
Want the Baller Limited Edition Version? The limited edition version of Overkill is limited to 120 pieces which are hand stamped and numbered. This version features an embossed cream slipcase and inside the book is a limited edition Giclee print on archival fine art paper.
