Revoltech: Buster Machine No. 19 Dix-Neuf!!!

IMG_0513

No doubt that Kaiyodo's Revoltech action figures are a hit. They are cheap at around $20 each and you can pose them in fourteen hundred different ways due to the ingenius racheted joint system and included stands. I have around fifteen of these figures and after busting out the first two including Dante from Devil May Cry and Getter 1, I haven't opened any of the others yet. This Dix-Neuf figure from Gun Buster 2 or Diebuster in Japan is the exception. I have always wanted this figure in some form. The fact that I had the chance with a $20 action figure was just too good to be true. It comes complete with his radical overcoat, signature spike bat and best of all, the skull face that goes on his back when he's not wearing the trench coat. It's awesome.

Now the bad news. While the joint system is indeed solid, the actual limbs are not very secure and pop out almost at will. In taking these shots, parts were falling off this guy like it was raining toys. Really frustrating. It made posing him a chore. I don't like chores. As it is now, any 10-year old (or 39-year old) will lose the limbs in about the first 2 minutes and never play with it again. If Kaiyodo could secure the parts and limbs a bit more in the future, we would have a super-solid toy that all ages could enjoy and play with for a long time.

Just to be fair, the vast majority of the Revoltech figures do not have the joint problem, at least in my experience. For some reason, Dix-neuf's arms ave very short posts, much shorter that the other figures. I am not sure why they did this, but that's how it is. I have the same problem as you in that regard. Just don't let this anomaly represent the rest of this awesome line.

don't get me wrong, i'm a BIG fan of Revoltech...otherwise I wouldn't be promoting them here. I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on your assertion here cause it has been some time since I fooled around with any of the other versions. I'm gonna have to bust out a few more to see if this holds water.
