Usugrow at Upper Playground FIFTY24SF Gallery!!!
Tonight I went to the much anticipated Usugrow show at Upper Playground's FIFTY24SF Gallery. It was awesome to meet Usugrow in person and admire he mad skillz with just simple pen and ink.
By the time I arrived, pretty much everything was sold out. Prices for this original art went up to $1,200 including this Secret Base Bee that Brian Flynn snagged!
Usugrow's style reminds me of some of the Latino grafitti art in Los Angeles where I grew up, especially the Catholic iconography.

This is the upcoming Usugrow toy in collaboration with Secret Base. It's actually larger than I thought it was going to be. It's probably 7 inches tall. Usugrow actually would prefer it be larger! He said the first version due out in October will be probably in clear grey viny, then a couple of other colors including a full color version.
Brian pointing out that Locomoto drove a long way to get here.
This was one of the only ones left by the time I got to the show. It's awesome and if it wasn't for the major cash deficit left by SDCC, this would be hanging on my wall right now...
