Oh, man. Take a look at my Christmas present to myself! Art Storm and Fewture announced not one, but TWO awesome EX-GOKIN die-cast figures for December. Both designed by the late "Professor Robo" Taku Sato, these really are amazing works of art. They will compliment the Black Getter Ryoma and Boss Borot I have coming!!!
So which one will be under my Christmas tree? Great Mazinger above of course!!! Prof. Sato will be missed.....!!! At 26,000 yen (around $240 USD), these guys are not cheap. They are around $40 more than the previous Boss Borot offerings which I think are more complicated to manufacture, but I believe the price reflects the fact that Prof. Sato has passed away.
The second version is Mazinger 1969 which is the more traditional of the two. It's cool and all, but does not have as much zing as Great Mazinger IMO. I'm pretty sure it's that flat top head that doesn't do it for me....
