Yesterday was Valentines Day at Super 7 and they released all around nice guy David Horvath's Flatwoods Monster produced in Japan by Wonderwall as part of their successful "Kaiju for Grown-Ups" series.
For whatever reason, I was never into the first two colorways of this figure. I'm not exactly sure why. I think the first one was green and red and the second one was all black.

Interestingly, the real Flatwoods Monster is stuff of legend dating back to the 50's in Braxton County, West Virginia where a fireball crashed into the area known as Flatwoods and out emerged a 10-foot tall alien with fiery red eyes!!

Years later, Japanese toy maker Marmit produced a few different vinyl versions of the Flatwoods Monster. My favorite has to be this clear version with blue spray. Amazing pictures by Paul Kaiju and Horseshoe!!

So Horvath's Flatwoods in an homage not only to the legend of the crashed-landed alien, but also to Marmit's original toy. Either way, these three colorways are amazing and have given me a whole new appreciation for this Alien-looking Nun!!
