Takashi Miike: 13 Assassins

Cult director Takeshi Miike delivers a bravado period action film set at the end of Japan's feudal era in which a group of unemployed samurai are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a war-torn future.

Highly anticipated classic Samurai movie by cult favorite Takashi Miike. Never heard of him? Go rent "Ichi the Killer". All will be answered there. It's Miike's first feudal epic and while it's a classic story about a very bad Lord being taken out by a few Ronin heroes, the movie apparently still retains the flare that is Miike. Expect lots of violence, blood, gore and then some more.

Even though the movie was released last year in Japan, you can watch it On Demand right now through most content providers. It hits the big screen April 29th. I'm gonna watch it in my living room now.
