For all you crazy Ghost in the Shell fans out there, Wave is coming out with a new snap-together, pre-painted model kit of the overly-cute Tachikoma from the Stand Alone Complex Series. I am a HUGE Ghost in the Shell fan. It is probably one of my all time favorite anime, but if you're like me, you were disappointed with the sequel, Ghost in the Shell Innocence. I just had a hard time with the story and Major Motoko in the little girl body. Didn't do it for me. I was also disappointed with the GIS Stand Alone Complex series which were originally aired for TV. The visuals have been dumbed down for mass consumption which is tolerable I guess, but I couldn't really get into any of the story lines. The shows had that Japanese quality of existentialism found in the original GIS and Evangelion Series and didn't seem to be connected that well to each other. I guess my real problem is that there wasn't enough ACTION!
annnnnnywaaaaay, the kit looks good. I purchased the kit from ActionHQ thinking it was an action figure that I didn't have to build since i'm sooo lazy these days. The kit can be purchased for around $16.00 (not including overseas shipping) from
Hobby Link Japan.

I have to say that I'm a much bigger fan of the original Fuchikoma Tanks from Ghost in the Shell (left and below) Their design is more elegant and they don't have that huge humpback rear end. These are pictures of the rare cold-cast resin statues distributed by Diamond Comics a few years ago. Highly detailed, but rather fragile. A steal at $59 when the first came out. If you see them on eBay, I would buy them. Better yet, if you see the camo colored one, drop me a note. I have Blue, Red and Green.

Pictured here with the Major Motoko action figure from MacFarlane's Anime Series.

An old blog I know, so this may no longer be relevant, but here a link to the camo Fuchikoma if interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ghost-Shell-S-A-C-Fuchikoma-Tachikoma-Alpha-Camo-/250047047085?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a37f725ad
wow, thanks Becca. I actually was able to get this one too. price on eBay is not terrible. highly recommend this figure, but it's not a toy. it's a rather delicate statue

I have a blue Fuchikoma
but how did you fixed the chin visor?

yeah, the chin visor was a little tricky. just a bit of epoxy glue should do the trick.
