I met artist, comic book author and toy manipulatorJesse DeStasio at SDCC this year and was blown away by his awesome Onell mash-up "RoboTinTin" above.
A bit about Jesse:
Based in NYC, Jesse DeStasio is a veteran of the toy industry having completed tours of duty at Play Along Toys, Art Asylum, Jazwares, and Mezco Toys. Inspired by 80s obscure toys lines & Jungian archetypes, Jesse creates limited edition resin pieces from his apartment, much to the detriment of his lungs. Back in 2004, Jesse launched the SubCultures: Art of the Action Figure exhibit as well as Rex Ganon The Indestructible Man, his own action figure creation. Next up, New York Comic Con will host the release of a 16 page teaser of Jesse's second comic book "Malignant Bullet" (staring none other then Rex Ganon).
