The Architecture of Video Game Consoles
Personally, the only one that really works is the Sony PS3. It is quite beautiful any way you look at it. Sadly, not the same can be said about the Nintendo Super NES (no matter how much time I lovingly spent with mine) or the Nintendo DS.
The various designs of video game consoles and handhelds have always been pretty futuristic, and why not? Carrying around a portable gaming system or having one in your living room requires some panache, especially when it's usually always visible. What if that intricate style in gaming carried into other creations as well? French mag Amusement released some found art in the form of gaming architecture, where buildings are made to look like Playstations, Nintendos, and Nintendo DS. Picture living or working in one of those buildings. It would be a gamer's finest hour.
