Le Merde "Whatsa Matter" Show at Super 7: Check it Out
Mike Kelly aka Le Merde was back in town this weekend for his triumphant return and solo custom toy and art show. I have to say it was quite a departure from his last show at Giant Robot just a few short weeks ago. I have to say that this show titled "Whatsa Matter" was probably his most diverse show to date. There seemed to be something for everybody. Not only his signature bone-cracking resin pieces, but a ton of vinyl toys painted in his trademark style and colors. There seemed to be older 2D art as well new pieces. Cheap Iron Man masks get the Le Merde treatment too. One section of the wall sort of represented what one might find on their college dorm room with a ton of Le Merde flyers, post cards, images, etc. It pretty much represented the last few years of Mike's career. The toys painted also represented the last few years of his career as well with his close ties to Gargamel, Super 7, Arbito, Dehara just to name a few. It was a great show and if you missed it, there are still quite a few pieces still available at Super 7 ONline
a ton more pics after the jump....
