I've managed to go pretty much my entire life without buying a significant Transformer Toy. Don't ask how cause I don't really know. I mean, what could be cooler than a robot that transforms into a vehicle? Dunno..nothing really. I think part of my problem is that they don't look all that cool as a robot and most of the time, they don't look all that great as a vehicle either. I've also been put off by the waves of cheaper made T-former toys too. Yes, I realize that there are some serious hardcore T-former toys out there too, but for whatever reason, I haven't been drawn to them. Yet.
Spied this bad boy on Hobby Link Japan and was like "wtf?" now this is insane. I was immediately intimidated by it's hulking profile. It looks like a gorilla from far away. The RD-16 Devastator is the figure to top all T-Formers from the latest movie. It's six separate construction vehicles that all transform into robots, but also combine Voltron-stylee to form this bad ass. Most important, it looks bad ass as a giant robot and each of the individual vehicles look really good too. Due out in September and by far the most expensive toy in the line up so far at around $150 bucks!!
My first dump truck was a giant Tonka truck that looked like this. It was so big that I could sit on top of it and ride it down the sidewalk.
