Steampunk Figures by Stephane Halleux

Stephane Halleux Sculptures

I spied a few of these pics on the Interweb the other night and I apologize, but I forgot where. Luckily I do know the author's name: Stephane Halleux. A french artist who creates these absolutely wonderful figures and vehicles using worn out leathers, fabrics and everyday hardware. The result are whimsical characters that belong in another era in a parallel universe. I wonder if it's no coincidence that Stephane graduted from Art school the same year that the wonderful and possibly highly influential movie "La Cite des Enfants Perdue" (City of Lost Children) directed by fellow countrymen Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet was released?

I'm pretty sick of steampunk, but those are incredible. Some of the nicest figures I've seen in a long time.

These are fantastic. I'm sick of steampunk too, but these go beyond. Really love that car.
