Appleseed PS2 Game and "Ex Machina" Movie Announced for 2007!!!

Appleseed fans: Get ready for more Deunan and Briarios!!

From PS2 IGN:
May 18, 2006 - The latest issue of Famitsu is home to first details on a PlayStation 2 adaptation of Appleseed, the 2004 anime CG hit. Sega will publish the tentatively titled Appleseed, which is being developed by Dream Factory, the makers of such titles as Tobal and The Bouncer.

For the videogame adaptation, Dream Factory is developing an action title that follows the movie's storyline. You play as Deunan and Briareos, the two leads from the film. Deunan is a fast female soldier who uses fire attacks, but for the heavy duty work, you'll want to rely on Briareos, a cyborg soldier. When moving around as Deunan, you can also board a Landmate mech for added speed and power.
The film's staff is helping out with the project. In addition to creating an animated opening movie, the staff is creating new enemies and areas exclusively for the game.

The announcement of the Appleseed PS2 adaptation has been timed to coincide with the announcement of Appleseed Saga Ex Machina, a new film set in the Appleseed world and being produced by John Woo. The PS2 title will have some undisclosed connections to the film.

Importers can look forward to the PS2 adaptation in September. The new movie is set for release in 2007.

Oh, I guess while I'm at it, i'll show you the official artwork for the second Appleseed Movie called "Ex Machina" produced by the lengendary Hong Kong film maker John Woo. Looks amazing, no? Look for it to be released in Japan in 2007. Here's to Deunan Knute blasting away with double-fisted hand guns and doves a fluttering in the background!!!!

I guess the things the little kiddies are doing today are called "Anime Music Videos" or AMV for short. They take anime movie footage, some clever editing and add their favorite music and voila! Anime Music Videos! Completely cool if you ask me. This one is not bad. It features music from the Boom Boom Satellites with a song called "Dive for you". Funny, I could have sworn it sounded like "Die for you", but i'm sure it's a play on words, these clever little bastards! But more importantly featuring one of the best Anime in recent memory: Appleseed the Movie. The opening fighting sequence is worth the price of admission if you ask me. Absolutely amazing.
