CM's Corp. Brave Gokin35 Steel Jeeg Ltd Edition Metallic Ver.

Brave Gokin35 Jeeg Ltd Metallic Version

I'm a sucker for Ltd. Edition versions. Usually because Ltd Edition versions mean metallic colors and they always look awesome. This metallic version of CM's Corp. Jeeg is another example. Due out late July, this guy is not cheap at around $236. Pre-order yours at AmiAmi

More CM's Corp Mospeada Ride Armors !!!

TOY-RBT-0497_01 400x386

CM's Corp has two new Ride Armors from the Mospeada series. This Dark Bartley "Shinobu" Type has my attention... but alas, I may have to wait for it to go on sale before getting yet another Ride Armor....I would like to compare it to the other manufacturers versions though...Refer back to the Cyclone Beauty Contest!!!

CM's Corp Testa Rossa Review and Gallery!!!

IMG_2022 400x599

I can't tell you how excited I was when I first spied this CM's Corp Testa Rossa with the limited metallic blue finish. It's only my favorite figure from the Votoms Universe. So I've had this guy for a little while now and recently busted him out to take some pictures.

I'm sorry to report that my first encounter with this toy was not great. As I was fiddling around with it making it pose and what not, I yanked off his right arm (not very hard at all). I thought no big deal, i'll just stick him back in his socket and were good to go. What should have been a normal ball and socket type joint system you see on nearly all toys, I was appalled to see that this joint system was completely non-joint at all. I can't even begin to describe the lame-ness in engineering that went into this particular arm joint. The entire arm is held to the torso by some lame panel that doesn't even hold to the torso very well. Any movement made the arm fall off. It wasn't snap together...it didn't even look like there was that much to hold it in place. So I finally resulted in glueing the panel with the arm back to the torso. Suffice to say, my confidence in the rest of the toy was limited. It's supposed to go into "Down" mode, but i'm not even gonna try to make that plastic origami move. If arms fall off at will, god knows what will happen if I try to transform this guy.

I dunno, but for $75, I want a toy that's engineered well and you can actually play with.

CM's Corp Brave Gokin 13 Mospeada Cyclone!!

TOY-RBT-0101_01 400x536

Holy Cyclones, Scott Bernard!! Did the Mospeada license go on sale this year? Did Gakken's exclusive expire or something? CM's Corp hop on the Mospeada Cyclone-wagon is the third version announced this year. Not that i'm complaining, but that's a lot of Cyclones, yo. First we have the Toynami version. Then we had the Megahouse version and now we have the CM's Corp version here. I gotta say i'm torn. It's really hard to tell with just pictures, but I might like the CM's Corp version the least based on the pics. The color looks wrong for one thing and it looks kinda cheap with all the exposed screws. Although it's a bit less expensive that it's cousins at around $50, i'm not sure you're really saving any money....

hmmmmmmm, very tricky. I already pre-ordered the Toynami version, but looking at them all together, the Megahouse one is looking pretty good! Sorry CM's Corp....

CM's Corp Testa Rossa Ver. 2 Metallic Finish!!

Patience is one attribute that I don't possess enough of. But witness the one rare occassion that it paid off for me. Waaay back in June, I thought my prayers to the toy gods had been answered when I found out that one of my favorite Votoms mechs, the venerable Blue Knight Beserga Testa Rossa was being realized in all it's action figure mightiness. Still, as much as I wanted to hit the "Pre-Order" button, something didn't sit well...I wasn't crazy about the shade of blue. Yes, it's blue so that should be enough I realize, but I wanted a metallic blue. Knowing that CM's Corp had released other Votoms mechs in a matte finish first, then re-released the same figure in a special, limited edition metallic finish, I waited and hoped. Months later, I was writing another mech-head, Vombie about my hopes with the Metallic Testa Rossa and he wrote back saying it was up for Pre-order at Hobby Link Japan!! Stoked!!!

Here's a good comparison shot showing the two versions side by side...i'm hoping the new version is on the right....!!

Balking and Raiking + ??? = Gaiking!!

valking4 400x303

When I first saw the stylized Raiking from CM's Corp. below, it looked like some weird designer version of Gaiking. Then this Balking showed up with his dual axes and I realized there was more to this interesting set. It now appears that if you collect presumably three(3) figures including Raiking, Balking and a yet to be announced figure, you can assemble Gaiking. Cool enough concept. I might bite!!

CM's Corp Patlabor Taisyo!!!

l01 400x422

I really don't know anything about these interesting mechs except that I believe they come from the Patlabor universe. Perhaps Heavy Mechs when the going gets rough? Maybe space versions for missions on Mars? In any case, they look cool.

CM's Corp Brave Gokin Griffon Flight Unit Preview

l01

OK, so another admission: i'm not a huge Patlabor fan. The mech designs are aiiiight, but seriously, if you're gonna make different versions of the good guy mech, can't you make them...you know....different? There are like what, 4 or 5 different Patlabor's and don't they all prety much look the same? I like my heroes or mechs to be as different as Go Rangers for example. Anyhoooo, this Griffon guy is my kind of mech. Black, sinister, cool...So cool that not only did they make a Revoltech figure, CM's Corp. is making a nice die-cast figure sort of SOC style. At over $100, it better be good. From the looks of these pics, lot's of details....might have to pick one up....it will be out in August.

l03 400x365

How about this working cockpit, eh? not bad...

l04

l08 400x316

Here's another annoying element to Patlabor: if you're gonna make a giant mech, why the hell would you make a giant revolver??? Geezus, you build a giant machine gun that pops out of his arm ala Monev the Gale, right??!!!
