More CM's Corp Mospeada Ride Armors !!!

TOY-RBT-0497_01 400x386

CM's Corp has two new Ride Armors from the Mospeada series. This Dark Bartley "Shinobu" Type has my attention... but alas, I may have to wait for it to go on sale before getting yet another Ride Armor....I would like to compare it to the other manufacturers versions though...Refer back to the Cyclone Beauty Contest!!!

MegaHouse Variable Action Mospeada Ride Armor Review!!!

IMG_2775 400x599

Out of all three Mospeada Ride Armor Cyclones being released currently by three different manufacturers, I think this MegaHouse version is the best looking. Having a couple poorly designed MegaHouse toys already, I pre-ordered this toy with some trepidation. But let me tell you up front, that it pays to have lowered expectations because I like this toy.

IMG_2777 400x599

Not only does it look better than any other Cyclone on the market, it's fairly well made. I'm not sure what you might expect in a toy that is supposed to transform from a bike to a suit of armor, but suffice to say that the transformation is not what you might think of "Transformer-like". You don't pull off a bunch of origami like moves with precise engineering and all of a sudden get a dude on a futuristic motorcycle. It's more like you ease pieces of plastic off and pivot this part here and that part there and after about 20 minutes of folding and putting stuff back on, you have transformed the toy. Not quite seamless, but I was expecting much worse.

So it starts out innocent enough. You only have a few pieces to use in order to transform it into a Cyclone.

IMG_2778 400x599

But the devil is in the details. You have to very carefully nudge the ride armor off the figure and be careful not to snap anything off in the process. There are quite a few very small parts involved. Definitely not for your 8-year old kid. Essentially you're stripping parts off...

A few careful twists, turns and folds and you have something that is starting to resemble a Cyclone.

IMG_2785 400x599

and voila! You have a Cyclone to ride!!!

I will say to MegaHouse's credit, once the transformation was complete, I was expecting all kinds of parts to fly off willy nilly and any breeze, but once put back together in either form, it's fairly sturdy (in that model kind of way). To be honest, if you're like me, you're not going to bother transforming him back and forth that much. Just takes too much time. I could prolly get it down to just a few minutes either way now that I know how to do it, but it's just not the kind of thing you would do to play with it. You will probably display it and when you're tired of looking at it on one mode, transform it and leave it for another few weeks or months.

In conclusion, if you're a fan of Mospeada and you dig Cyclones, it's a no-brainer. Go out and get this toy (if you can find it). Just don't expect it to transform like a Transformer.

CM's Corp Brave Gokin 13 Mospeada Cyclone!!

TOY-RBT-0101_01 400x536

Holy Cyclones, Scott Bernard!! Did the Mospeada license go on sale this year? Did Gakken's exclusive expire or something? CM's Corp hop on the Mospeada Cyclone-wagon is the third version announced this year. Not that i'm complaining, but that's a lot of Cyclones, yo. First we have the Toynami version. Then we had the Megahouse version and now we have the CM's Corp version here. I gotta say i'm torn. It's really hard to tell with just pictures, but I might like the CM's Corp version the least based on the pics. The color looks wrong for one thing and it looks kinda cheap with all the exposed screws. Although it's a bit less expensive that it's cousins at around $50, i'm not sure you're really saving any money....

hmmmmmmm, very tricky. I already pre-ordered the Toynami version, but looking at them all together, the Megahouse one is looking pretty good! Sorry CM's Corp....

Megahouse Mospeada Cyclone Previews!!!

TOY-RBT-0072_03 400x516

Megahouse recently announced it was getting on the Mospeada bandwagon this year and also releasing a set of Mospeada Cyclones. Looks like Scott Bernard and Rook Bartley? Forgive me if I got this wrong...(Roger). These will be less expensive than their Toynami cousins at around 5,000 yen (~$45 USD) compared to $70 for the Toynami versions. Dunno, these guys are looking pretty sweet as well. They will be out in February. The problem for Megahouse is that everyone that has been fixing for Cyclones since the Gakken version is gonna already have blown their wad on the Toynami version which ships this month (supposedly). Will there be room for both? Maybe a Toynami Scott Bernard and a Megahouse Rook Bartley? Me? I might have to get more than one just so I can customize it with hot rod colors, eh?

This I believe is the Rook Bartley version. Could be Lancer... I wish there was a bit more to distinguish the two....

Toynami Masterpiece Cyclone Scott Bernard!!!

TOY-01-10003 400x420

A few new pictures of the upcoming and much, much anticipated Toynami Masterpiece Cyclone Scott Bernard. Should be out in November. You can pre-order for about $80.00 from BigBadToyStore. The pics below are from Josh Bernard's CollectionDX SDCC 2007 coverage. I think this piece is coming along very nicely. I pray the transformation is smooth and secure. You know how I hate sloppy engineering.
