CANNICS Custom Exhibition at BRIGHT Show in Berlin
I was invited to participate in this custom exhibition for this rather odd toy called "CANNICS". It's a large toy and I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. For one thing, it doesn't have any arms. But I tried a new camo painting technique that seemed to work out ok. Peer from V-Kingz is one of the guys behind this project so I thought I would support him since he's such a supporter of our toy niche in Europe. I can't say this toy is exactly my cup of tea, but it was fun to paint and I like the idea of exposing the artists we admire to a new audience with the hope that they learn more about Japanese toys. I'm honored to participate in a show with so many obviously talented artists you see here.
Actually there are many artists that you would recognize that are participating in the show which starts this weekend at the BRIGHT Show in Berlin including Frank Kozik, Itokin Park, Martin Ontiveros, BLObPUS, Dead Presidents, Carlos Enriquez Gonzalez, Killer J, Jeff Lam, Uamou, Vinylpulse, and even yours truly.
The direct translation of the name "CANNICS" means "Can't do nothing" in german slang. That is why he has no points of articulation or is there a further use for him.Growing up and being stuffed in the free-market economy, Cannics is effectively the unknown and overweight cousin of the well-known smiley from the early 90s.Despite the fact that some people would call him handycapped, he still brings things down to the ground.Cannics is a very optimistic and likeable yellow fatso who was born to put smiles on peoples faces.

Thanks for sharing this, first of all. It's good to see all kinds of art that plays with one's imagination. There are some fun looking takes on the base form.
I think your figure shows off your apparently evolving painting skills.
