No trip to LA would be complete without paying homage to Super Collector, Star of Toy Punks vol. 1, Skullbrain moderator and good friend, Carl aka Mutonisyourfriend. Carl has been collecting Japanese toys for longer than he cares to admit. Over the several years I have known him, his passion for this obscure hobby has never diminished. He contributions to the scene are noteworthy. As you can see here, his appetite for toys is voracious. This is a serious collection with an eye for only the best. He might be one of the only collectors on the planet complete on Secret Base? Carl's display collection is based in two rooms: Living Room and adjacent office. Both rooms have shelving pretty much against every available wall space crammed deeply with toys. It's a sight to behold. The other 75% of his collection is in boxes in his garage. ack! Anyways, aside from the wondrous tour of his beautiful home, an afternoon and evening with Carl is a great time. Original Ron English paintings above.
