My Apologies!!!

Guys,

I'm terribly sorry i've been lacking on the posting front. I've been traveling like a madman and work has been kicking my ass. Wife and Kid are not happy so something had to give for a bit and that ended up being you. Hopefully things will slow down soon and I can get back to giving toybot studios all the loving attention you so deserve!

I am still recovering from the toy mecca that is known as SDCC or San Diego Comic Con for the un-initiated. One thing I can say for certain is that I will return next year with more time and more money. My suggestion to those of you reading that are into toys, save your money now and plan your vacation around it. Anyways, Many, many, many dollars later and a duffle-bag or two full of toys, I am completely backed-up for many months of countless photography shoots of tons of new toys. I really don't even know where to begin. I have only just begun writing the stories (yes, there will be multiple) and I hope to find the time to add some decent photography of my purchases. I met up with a ton of great artists at SDCC and will be showing their work and what I bought from them very soon. That's what it's all about, right? You guys want to see the goods!!

On another front, I have to admit to now being totally addicted to Japanese vinyl. Were talking Japanese monsters (Kaiju). Companies like Secret Base, Gargamel, Real x Head and Bounty Hunter are experiencing a nice upsurge in revenue due to newbie collectors like me and others who have discovered (brainwashed) this interesting and niche toy genre. I'm not talking about the Kid Robot stuff which is cool, but the sweet yumminess of Japanese translucent colored vinyl monsters (which seem to feature a lot of skulls). For you mecha fans, not to worry, I will still write about all your mecha goodness, just expect to see more Japanese vinyl thrown into the mix. Since I write about what I collect, tastes change, toys sometime change, but in the end, it's still about cool toys and toy photography. To give you an idea of what kind of Japanese vinyl I'm talking about, check back to my earlier post on the Paul Kaiju show at Super7! This is the kind of stuff were talking about. Real Fan Shit Only!!

Here is a sneak peak of some upcoming features and toys:

Welcome back from SDCC and wherever else your travels may have taken you.

Those kaiju figures you have posted in this entry are pretty slick. I love translucent plastic- especially limited edition translucent plastic. Consider my interest piqued. Ugh, I can't afford to get started on another genre of collecting... X_X

Hi akum6n,

thanks for the welcome back!

Yes, the primary reason I got into Japanese vinyl is exactly because of the translucent vinyl!! Look forward to many more pictures of colored translucent vinyl figures from toybot studios!

and yes, this genre is very expensive and much more addictive!!!

I'm with akum6n. Sweet translucency goodness! (from the love of everything Microman) But can't afford it. Must keep it simple for the family's sake y'now? Great pics again too. Sorry we didn't hook up at the Con but it's hard even to make a full sweep of the convention floor! Crazy!

things were very hectic for me as well at SDCC. I was too busy running around trying to secure exclusive toys!
