Fresh Rumblebabies Straight From Kozik!!

IMG_6830

One of Kozik's latest projects (if you can keep up with them all) is his custom Rumblebabies from the upstart, but quite popular Rumble Monsters. Kozik got 50 clear blue and 35 Glow in the Dark Rumblebabies and hand painted all of them. They came out amazing and are permanently fixed to my keyboard now!! It's nice to own a custom piece by Kozik when the rest of the toy world is over run by his production pieces... Thanks Frank for the in-progress shots. Cool to get a brief glimpse into your world.

White Hot Real x Head Colorway!!!

DSCF5671

RealxHead fans are in a white hot frenzy over this latest exclusive colorway released in-store at Jyarinco in Japan. Don't bother trying to click on the link and dropping an email to the store because these guys are long gone. They've hit the aftermarket like a raging avalanche and one piece in particular is commanding an icy half a grand! That's right, the Evil Mutant Head pictured above went for close to $500 on Yahoo! Japan Auctions the other day and there is one on eBay right now that is close to $300 and will continue to climb no doubt! Why the insane figures with everyone tapped out at Christmas? Santa Claus only knows, but apparently the reason is that there are less than TEN of the frosty Evil Mutants with the Red Hot Hands in existence!! What about the other two? Well, there are a bit more of them. Supposedly 30 each which is still not very many. Good luck Real x Head hunters!! Thanks to LivingDead and Datadub in Japan for the pics!

Rise of the Aquookie!!!

aquookie-promo03

When I first got a glimpse of the above Aquookie, I was like: "What the hell is that??" I was but a wee lad when Star Wars was released and of course I had the Chewbacca action figure from Kenner. You HAD to have a Wookie. Back then, he was the only Wookie plus he had a crossbow laser rifle. How cool is that? So the Chewbacca action figure is near and dear to my heart. Somehow this guy here has managed to get a furry Wookie all wet and paint him somekind of underwater Wookie or Aquookie as he calls them. Dunno, something crazy about that, yet something kinda cool. check out those rhinestone eyes he's got going! Well, I think they're beautiful and very nicely painted. It's a fresh take on an old Wookie! I asked Agent Lovelette what was next and he told me he's working on (get this): Halloweenwoks (a little late)
and Death Stare Droids (voodoo themed death star droids). This sounds very interesting, but he needs help getting old Ewoks and Death Star Droids. Maybe if you send him yours, he'll cut you a deal on the finished product? Go for it! You know you ain't using those figures for anything good!

aquookie-promo01

From the Aquookie website:

When Star Wars was released in 1977 the world went crazy. Nearly every character and even those character's races enjoyed their chance in the spotlight. Such was not so for the wookies. Most of the race rejected popular press and exposure, retreating to and adapting to other locations to escape the bright lights of the Lucas Empire. In 1984 an oceanic explorer on a routine dive discovered what is now known as the "aquookie". Aquookies are wookies that somehow hypersped evolution and quickly adapted to the deepest parts of the ocean. Their fur has become slimy and resembles a bright tropical seaweed. Their diet and exposure to salt water has transformed their eyes to appear as jewels. No dive has ever resulted in the capture of a specimen. The aquookie figure is the result of a few rare photos shot in the mid and late 80's. Aquookies have not been spotted in over a decade. Many believe them extinct.

NVC Crew's Gwintastic Customs!!!

swat_gwyn_2_hi_res_corrige

Dr. Bao and Spive are at it again with another set of Gwintastic Customs for October Toys!!! I like how the duo which make up the NVC Crew are spreading the custom love to a wide variety of different toys. I'm still waiting to see them do a custom Japanese Vinyl toy!!! Cyborg Mini Zag Dr. Bao?

Dr. Bao dropped me a note with some background on their creative genius behind their latest project:

So....hey here's an update of our recent project.... You that look like a fan of mecha and robot stuff.....you will probably dig on our latest project....!!!!!! For this project, we worked for octobertoys.....We will be their December artist of the month.

So they send to us......their 3 or 4'' Gwin......I don't know if you ever see these toys but they are quite small..... But the hard thing about these toys is that they are just very hard to work with!!!! All the shapes are quite hard to deal with....

cyborg1_brain_close_up

We've decided that we will do a series of ........ohhhh....think you wil like this world.....!!!!cyborg S.W.A.T team Gwin....I think the shapes and the concept of pingouin are perfect to do something ike that....So we started to custom them....but what we want to do was to do something that will not look like any other robots of kind of robots-soldiers that other artists did in the custom industry...... We just want to give that special look to our cyborg......The kind of " we're totally space!!!!" :)

cyborg1_side_2

cyborg2

gwinswatarmy

GWinch_cover_1

But hey, one day I have one of these crazy idea!!!!!!!! I called him..........I go hey Spive....you remember that we're the December artist of the month right......so hey let's do something related to Christmas!!!!! And I add....let's do the Grinch!!!!! That's how I came up with the ideas of making the Grinch...... So I sculpt all the faces of the Grinch on the belly of the gwin. Then I decided to modify the head of the gwin so it looks like a Santa Claus hat......I decided not to add the "white stuff" (i don't know how you call it!!!!) on the mouth of the gwin so peole can still recognize that I use a gwin and custom it. If I would add this thing, it will look so much like the grinch that people will say that I only sculpt a grinch and won't recognize that it's a custom anymore.....

the_gwinch

Dr.Bao's The Gwinch and Mr. Lunatiq will be on ebay for auction and the money will be given to a charity organism. We choose to give the funds to an association for people having Gilles de la Tourette syndrome. I have a daughter that has the syndrome so it's a cause that I support.

I think that the Gwinch concept really fits perfectly with the holiday time and everythting simply fits so well together.....from the the custom to the title. It can even be bought and give as a Christmas gift.....it's just the perfect timing for that!!! Because it will be auctioned and the starting price is quite low, I think it's a good chance for people to have a piece from us........for not much!!!!!

Lastly, but most important, check out this all new, exclusive collaboration with Gargamel: The beginning of a long dream comes true for me. My first toy with Gargamel, "killer" is scheduled for release at the end of January. Since I go my very first taste of the candy gumdrop looking toys a few years ago from Gargamel I have been freaking out. The smooth lines and ripples, the spray, and all those Jolly Rancher sweet colors. Here is the first sneak at my new baby Killer. I will try to get out weekly updates on his progress. Will see how it goes. Thanks. Bwana.
