One of the unexpected highlights of NYCC 2010 was meeting Gary Schaeffer. Working closely with the creator Mel Birnkrant, Gary helped re-launch THE OUTER SPACE MEN back into our consciousness with a new Graphic Novel and a collaboration with The Four Horsemen and Onell Designs for a new set of action figures. It was a pleasure to meet him as well as take a ride in his time machine to see all of the wonderous OUTER SPACE MEN vintage toys and action figures he had on display. The new toys are cool, but it's really hard to hold a light to the original source material.
