Junk Tank Rock Resin Kits

I'm not a big fan of resin kits for the simple reason that I don't have the patience but more importantly the talent to build and paint one. I stumbled across these kits at Oriental Hero tonight and thought the designs were pretty cool. Maybe the guy that owns the site doesn't realize we don't like to be call "Oriental" - the proper term is "Ornamental". Oh, well....anyways, for around $50, these kits look pretty damn good....once their built and painted like this!! They have that Machinen Kreiger / Cyberpunk / Post apocalypic / Mad Max / Dust / appeal going on if you know what I mean...

Biskup's New Tankizaado Colorway!!

Grabbed this pic from Wonder Wall's Blog the other day and was really hoping that the next colorway would be the clear with blue spray. I even dropped a note to TokyoCube asking if and when they would be getting the next colorway. They mentioned they are getting it on their website next week, but uncertain which version.

Well the following pictures answer the question! It's not Rad clear with blue, but it is a very cool blue colorway. Notice the flipside with the purple? Yum! My favorite! Check TokyoCube next week for the pre-order!!!

More Pics of Touma's Mini Goon Series!!!

Oh, man!! I'm chomping at the bit for this set!!! I love Touma's Goon's but they are kinda big and kinda expensive. When I saw that Wonder Wall was busting out with a set of Mini Goons, I got all happy and can hardly wait for my set to show up!! The way I hear it is that there will be ten in the original colorways of their larger siblings, but 5 new colorways for this exclusive set. Kozik's Usagi Gon Taking Over the World!!!

Kozik has a couple new Usagi-Gon colorways being offered recently. The first one which I pre-ordered pretty much just seeing a drawing is this sick clear blue version:



No Idea Records managed to get this exclusive GID version:

My favorite has to be this "Acid Rainbow" Ultra Exclusive version from ToysRevil (so exclusive that it only exists in this picture):



So let's see, so far Frank has done the following Usagi Gon Versions:

Kozik said something about a few more colorways coming up including an exclusive for SDCC this year and possibly one in his new hand painted "Murder" style which is white with silver and blood splatter.

There's also a rumor that WonderWall will release 50 blanks for 50 artists to do custom handpaints for a show and auction of some sort. Sounds awesome!!!

Bwana's Killer Prototype!!!

Bwana apparently had one of the best days of his life last week:

"yesterday was rad. it snowed in portland and actually stuck. today is Hands down in the top 10 happiest days of my life. I got a little box today from gargamel with the very first Killer samples. these are not what the first release will look like. That secret right now. Will come out mid feb. He looks so freaking right on the money. Working with gargamel is the best. today I cried. official name is "Little One" Sleeping killer "





Whoa! Killer is looking RAD! I can hardly wait! Please do some kind of painted clear!! It must be really fulfilling to have your own toy made! Congratulations Bwana on this awesome adventure that we get to ride along with!

Ultimate Vinyl Championship: Paul Kaiju vs LASH!!!

Tonight we have two artists go toe-to-toe in the ring of custom Japanese vinyl! In this corner, we have the legendary Paul Kaiju; master of the airbrush and well known for his fine eye for color. His fighter is a custom Glow in the Dark BlobPus painted in blues and purples using a special "rub" technique that is just amazing!





His opponent is from the upstart camp of LASH! Another fine artist that just recently started customizing Japanese vinyl. LASH whose real name is Rich took a Secret Base Skullwing and painted clear blue boxing arms with a black, metallic blue and purple body for this amazing example of fighting spirit!





And the first round begins! Ding! Ding! The atmosphere is electric as the crowd is ready for a fight here at Skullbrain Arena!!!



LASHwing tries to cut the corner off, but BlobPus and his slippery tentacles easily evades...



BlobPus throws out his patented triple sow kow Paul Kaiju tentacle...



But LASHwing slips the tentacle and hammers back with his Power Hiddy Left Hook...



Shaken, but not Sushi, BlobPus fakes and slips the Ramos right cross...



At the end of a brutal twelve rounds, judges declare a draw!!!



Friends and Family join LASHwing for the photo opp!!

Tachikoma SD Trading Figures!!

Just a short post on these little Tachikoma trading toys from the anime Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. When I first saw them up on Hobby Link Japan, I didn't think much of them cause there really wasn't much there: all the sculps were exactly the same. The only difference between them was the color! I thought the sculp itself was too Super Deformed for my tastes as well. So I didn't buy them.



While down in LA on my Toy Vacation visiting Little Tokyo, I stumbled across Anime Jungle and saw these little Tachikoma figure in person and have to say that they were really much too cute and cool to pass up! They are a bit smaller than I thought they would be which is a good thing. They have a bit of heft to them as they are solid plastic. They even have some articulation as all four legs move as well as the tiny arms! Since Anime Jungle labels all the blind boxes, I was able to get my favorite colors blue and purple as well as the secret chase gold version. So check 'em out cause they come in several different colors and look cool scrambling across your keyboard...

Customs by LASH!!!

I think it's really great to see an artist who isn't used to the toy medium get better and better at customizing Japanese vinyl. LASH whose real name is Rich has done several custom RealxHead and Secret Base figures now and has even done a commission for toybot studios! LASH has a great eye for color, details and subtle shading. His photography below is pretty damn good as well!! He's got a couple of my clear figures in his hands right now for the special "spa" day. I can hardly wait to see them! LASH also adds the special touches including custom header card and a very interesting Bio-Hazard bag complete with LASH Devilhead stickers! Completely professional!
