Tristan x Filth Thundermutt 3.0!!

As you know, i'm not really into that much Western Vinyl. However, one of the sculps that I do like and own is the Thundermutt . I own a few and dig that they come with a secret surprise stashed in the head. One of the newest Thundermutts I want to get my hands on is this sick black and red guy from Filth. If you join the Thundermutt club, you will have the right to get this guy. Dunno, if I was gonna lay out $300 bones to join a toy club, i'd kinda like to get a toy or two with that. Maybe a discount? Thundermutt fans much be loaded...I'm not loaded but i'm still a fan. Can I get one? Maybe not after this post...

Sneak Peek of NVC Crew's Custom for "I AM 8 Bit" Show at Gallery 1988

Wow! Dr. Bao and Spive of the NVC Crew continue to out do themselves on each custom project. This time around, it's for LA's Gallery 1988 retro-cool I AM 8 Bit show opening this Tuesday, April 17th. To really understand what Dr. Bao and Spive did for their piece, watch this interesting video:



So you get the idea, right? For the I AM 8 Bit show and to celebrate Megaman's 20th anniversary, Dr. Bao and Spive decided to make a diorama which replicates a fictious stage in the Megaman video game. The enemy in this case is a new character NVC made up called "Vinyl Man" which uses 45 LP records as his weapons. The most interesting part is the addition of a circuit bender built into the Nintendo controller. When you push the buttons, you can manipulate the video game sounds ala DJ-style. The idea came from Johnny Ill Digger from the Boom Bap Cats. Fresh indeed. Great job Dr. Bao and Spive! Love the idea!!!

Gung Hay Fat Choy with NVC Crew!!!!

Gung Hay Fat Choy means "Happy New Years" in Cantonese!!! Today is Chinese New Year so what could be more fitting than a special Chinese New Year Labbit and Dunny Custom diorama from the NVC Crew??!! Dr. Bao dropped me a note and gave me a little background on this amazing diorama. Apparently it all started with Kozik's five inch Labbit. They were going to customize one into a traditional Chinese Lion for a friend's wedding where it is customary to have a martial arts troupe get into these elaborate costumes with these giant Lion heads and perform the traditional Chinese Lion Dance. Well, Bao and Spive decided to keep the Chinese Lion and make this diorama for Chinese New Years adding the traditional Little Buddha, but even better: adding Wong Fei Hung!!



Wong Fei Hung was a real Doctor and martial artist that lived in China during the 1800's who was, and to this day, is a Chinese Folk Hero - kinda like Robin Hood. You might recognize his name from movies like "Drunken Master" with Jackie Chan or most notably, Jet Li's epic "Once Upon a Time in China" series. However, my favorite would have to be Donnie Yen's amazing performance as Wong Fei Hong's father in "Iron Monkey"!! This one is prolly one of my all-time favorite Martial Arts movie!!



Back to NVC Crew's diorama, it wasn't easy to dress the Labbit as a Chinese Lion! It took Dr. Bao three times before he found just the right fur that looked appropriate for the Chinese Lion! Also he needed something that would tie everything together which was the Chinese Gate from which the Lion would eat at the lettuce while the firecrackers went off to scare the evil demons!!





I'm really happy that Dr. Bao and Spive decided to honor one of China's most beloved folk heroes for Chinese New Year!! Check out Dr. Bao busting out some of his Wu Shu!! Jet Li better watch out!!

Biskup's New Tankizaado Colorway!!

Grabbed this pic from Wonder Wall's Blog the other day and was really hoping that the next colorway would be the clear with blue spray. I even dropped a note to TokyoCube asking if and when they would be getting the next colorway. They mentioned they are getting it on their website next week, but uncertain which version.

Well the following pictures answer the question! It's not Rad clear with blue, but it is a very cool blue colorway. Notice the flipside with the purple? Yum! My favorite! Check TokyoCube next week for the pre-order!!!

Kozik's Usagi Gon Taking Over the World!!!

Kozik has a couple new Usagi-Gon colorways being offered recently. The first one which I pre-ordered pretty much just seeing a drawing is this sick clear blue version:

Kozik said something about a few more colorways coming up including an exclusive for SDCC this year and possibly one in his new hand painted "Murder" style which is white with silver and blood splatter.

There's also a rumor that WonderWall will release 50 blanks for 50 artists to do custom handpaints for a show and auction of some sort. Sounds awesome!!!
