RealxHead x Skull Toys x Mirock x Fig-Lab Dokurocks Man

If you could only have one of these Dokurocks Men, my vote would be the Walder Colorway. Hopefully I get this right: collaboration between RealxHead x SKULL TOYS. Mirock sculpted the head and Fig-Lab produced this colorway. Dreams do come true.

datadub Riding Kaneda's Bike

datadub at Akira Exhibit

Check out Don aka datadub striking the pose on Kaneda's bike at the GENGATEN Exhibit: The Art of Otomo Katsuhiro. I think Don would do well in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo. He certainly has the facial hair for it.

GFS 2011 - All Stars ComicCon Schedule...!!

Global Figure Symposium 2011

Personally, I think Don and Matt's Global Figure Symposium is one of the most exciting booths at ComicCon. With some many artists with so many toys, it's hard not to visit this booth every 10 minutes just to make sure you don't miss anything. Luckily Don provided this handy schedule of events...

Thursday, July 21 2011

All Star Bazaar - Open - 2pm
A smorgasbord of Global Figure goodness including mini minis from UAMOU, new Millennial Monsters from BloBpuS, Barbarians from Frenzy Bros., new aliens from Galaxy People PLUS select goodies from the FIG-X.JP warehouse.

Team Europa - 2pm - close
The Tarantulas, Triclops & Bruno Orbit bring a touch of Continental Class to the Symposium.

Friday, July 22 2011

All Star Bazaar - Open - 1pm
Return of the morning buffet of figure entrees.

Paul Kaiju - 1pm - 3pm
The West Coast Master of Monsters will hold forth with a cornucopia of his latest creations.

Suckadelic - 3pm - 5pm
The East Coast King of Bootleg Action Figures holds court with a bevy of hot Necromancer exclusives and sexy sidekicks.

Monster Worship - 5pm - 7pm
Newcomer to the Symposium - Monster Worship will be dropping new vinyl goodness from their All Star roster including Johnny Ryan, Jeff Lam and Mark Rudolph.

Saturday, July 23, 2011

All Star Bazaar - Open - 12pm
Your first stop in the morning to tide you over for a long Saturday of Figure overload.

L'Amour Supreme & Fiends - 12pm - 2pm
Illustrator Provocateur L'Amour Supreme is bringing an All-Star entourage of artists to the table for 2 hours of creative chaos. Rumored yet unconfirmed names culled from the Twitosphere have included Skinner, Count Chocula, TWERPS, the Creature from Laguna Beach, COOP, and Beezelbub Jr.

Monstre Sean's Resin Emporium - 2pm - 5pm
Monstre Hero and UHOH toys team up to bring us a crunchy selection of cutting edge Resin-based Figures

Vectar's Saturday Night Special - 5pm - 7pm
He's Baaaack. Second tier toy villain crashes the Symposium to drop a glyos-compatible version of himself. He will be joined in his capers by SideKick Lab. It might get messy.

RealxHead Chaos Troopers Invasion..!!!!!

RxH Chaos Troopers Comic by Ralph Niese

It's a crazy backwards on itself homage...! When Matt Doughty created the Chaos Invasion Custom Corps, he was paying homage to RealxHead Mutant Chaos figure in minature Glyos form. Now Mori is making full size vinyl figures paying homage to the Chaos Invasion Custom Corps. Crazy..! Like Inception with Toys..! Thanks Matt, Mori, Don...!

The most exciting figure released from Real x Head this year is hands-down the Chaos Trooper. Inspired by figures from the ground-breaking CHAOS INVASION Custom Corps by Matt Doughty of Onell Design, the figure incorporates many Glyos inspired references in the sculpt.

While Mori has been "working the mold" pretty hard with a slew of Micro-releases in Japan, the time has now come for an On-Demand release of the Chaos Trooper from RealxHead U.S.A. Once again the pre-order will be open for 1 week starting at 9pm PST July 10 and closing at 9pm July 17. This time around the figures will be priced to include shipping and will ship worldwide directly from Japan. More details to come tomorrow evening.

To celebrate the world-wide Chaos Trooper Invasion, we asked Wunderkind illustrator Ralph Niese to create this special work of art for us. Looks like the cover of a very cool comic.

Thanks to all the artists and thanks to everyone for all your support!

The Crossover at the Global Figure Symposium SDCC 2010

Global Figure Symposium Crossover SDCC 2010
One of my only pictures of Don...

I think one of the most interesting events this year was the tiny booth that seemed to hold a small army of artist and toy makers. Spearheaded by Matt Doughty of Onell Design and Datadub of Fig-Lab, this year's Crossover event for the Global Figure Symposium was the hot ticket. I'm guessing around 20-25 artists from both the US and Japan were represented. Every couple of hours, the table was cleared and another artist would put up their wares. I found myself going back to this booth over and over (as evidenced by the last six posts showing other artists sharing this booth).
