Touma Customs Online @ Mixi-Bang!!

Touma Custom Show at Mixi-Bang 2009

Although I missed the show, a huge selection of custom Touma figures are still available and online at Mixi-Bang. As usual, Touma did not disappoint in the sheer volume and variety categories. With over 80 custom figures in almost any colorway you desire over five different characters, there is definitely something for everyone. Touma brought a few new characters along too. For my money, I much prefer the Danke Schoen at $120 each compared to either the Harapeko or Bokoboko at over double the price.

Harapeko Pekora. $250 each

Shikaruna Kubo Minis from Black Friday

Shikaruna Kubo Minis

What did I get on Black Friday? Well, a quick trip to Super7 yielded some goodies not listed on their webstore. I found these guys lying in a bin. Paid less than half for them. They somehow escaped being put online the night before for the midnight Black Friday sale. Thanks Super 7..!! A set of beautiful painted clear blue Shikaruna Kubo mini figures. If you haven't had these little buggers in your hand, I would suggest checking them out. They are incredibly detailed for the size: less than 3" tall. Impossibly detailed.

Go Nagai x Panson Works!!

Panson 5" figures

I like toy newsletters via email with pictures. When I got one tonight from Ningyoushi, this pic above of Go Nagai's Devilman caught my eye. Highly stylized, almost cute. It had been Pansonized. I recognized it immediately as I have several 3" mini figures in the Panson Works style. But these guys are not that small. 5" tall. I purchased it immediately. I'm digging the price too. $18 each. Unfortunately, i'm not feeling Mazinger or Getter, but Devilman is a must have.

Panson Works does a cross over with Go Nagai! This series features all your Go Nagai favorites with a Panson Works spin on them! Devilman, Mazinger Z, Cutey Honey and Getter Robo! measurements: 5 inches tall

It is that time of year again; Santa's wayward elfs have been hard at work exploring the cavernous storage areas and back offices of Super7. These elfs aren't searching for the over hyped or under produced toys that drove collectors crazy throughout the year. No they are looking for the forsaken and forgotten toys who have been passed over by collectors as they scrambled to buy the latest craze or saved their pennies to afford an elusive grail.

Can I Get a Woo, Woo...

IMG_7967 400x599

This is the one and only Woo that I own. It's made by M1 and is a classic toy by any account. I'm not sure why I don't own more Woo, but i'm pretty sure it has to do with the colorway. I just love this ocean colorway. I wish more Woo were painted like this. I say more Woo in metallic paint schemes!

From Dust to Dawn: Paolo Parente

Paolo Parente's DUST

wow, it's been almost exactly four years since I first blogged about Paolo Parente's Dust Universe. I re-discovered his site and grabbed some more pics of his wonderful mech designs. I love the WWII look and feel contrasting the Sci-Fi Mecha designs. You can buy comics and kits. Sadly the action figures are almost sold out, but you can get the Winter White version still! I say more action figures!

DUST is a "What if world", a fictionary world based on our true history and mixed-up with science fiction, created by Paolo Parente. The setting is around 1950 the "cold war" where all the superpowers are developing new high-tech armaments, getting ready for a new war…

The difference is that amongst them we find Nazi Germany and their Axis allies, who were the first to develop new weapon technologies at the end of 1944, ending the ward in a different way compared to history.
