Can I Get a Woo, Woo...

This is the one and only Woo that I own. It's made by M1 and is a classic toy by any account. I'm not sure why I don't own more Woo, but i'm pretty sure it has to do with the colorway. I just love this ocean colorway. I wish more Woo were painted like this. I say more Woo in metallic paint schemes!

Saturday at Super 7

Went to Japantown last Saturday. Got a bunch of seaweed and snacks, had lunch with Joe and of course visited Josh and Alex at Super7. Clear grey Mongolion with GID pour is awesome.

Toy Karma 2 @ Rotofugi Sept. 5th

What is Toy Karma? Well, in our case, it’s an art exhibit featuring artists expressing their love for classic Japanese toys. But it’s so much more than that. As Mark Nagata, founder of Max Toy Company and curator of this exhibit explains on his blog, it’s the idea that if you’re honest in your dealings that one toy that you’ve always dreamed of getting will eventually come to you. For many serious toy collectors it’s a guideline, a mantra and yes, even a lifestyle. This exhibit pays homage to the mysterious force and power that toys have over us.

Toy Karma, the exhibit, is held every other year at Rotofugi Gallery, Chicago. The first Toy Karma exhibit was held in September 2007. Toy Karma 2 (aka TKII) will be held at Rotofugi Gallery September 5-20, 2009. We hope you can join us!

Saturday in Japantown

It was a good day hanging out in Japantown with my daughter. I had been looking forward to picking up a few toys I ordered from Super7. The toys did not disappoint in person. The fuscia Akro is one of my favorite Akros. Can't beat the Mazinger Bigaro cause it's two things I love. I got to hang out with the Glenn for a bit and hear the latest toy gossip. My daughter and I strolled about Japantown, had a big lunch at our favorite Japanese restaurant and got silly taking pictures of the new toys.

It was a good day.
