Real x Head "Fighting Spirit" Chaos'!!!

IMG_1822 400x599

These are 3 out of the 4 RealxHead "Fighting Spirit" Chaos that have been released so far. The series uses a paint application where the top layer of paint is rubbed off to reveal the contrasting color vinyl underneath in certain parts and leaving paint in all the nooks and crannys. I think it's quite striking.

The first "Fighting Spirit" Chaos was released right here in the US at Toy Tokyo in New York City. Yellow vinyl with green spray rubbed off. Someone nick named this guy the "Salad Chaos"...

EyezonDark_front 400x533

Wow, two titans of the toy world come together for this amazing collaboration!! Paul Kaiju is gonna lend his mystical brush on Max Toy Co old skool / new skool Eyezon!! Ack! Only 30 produced! Get ready to panic!!

From Mark Nagata:

I've long admired the skills of Paul Kaiju. A multi talented artist who at the core is a Japanese toy fanatic and collector( my kind of folk!) I am thrilled to offer these custom painted Kaiju Eyezons. Paul has painstakingly hand painted each and everyone..so no two are alike. All are painted over Glow In Dark vinyl with Paul's special wash and wipe technique. And if that wasn't enough each figure is paired with a limited edition, hand signed by Paul Kaiju and Mark Nagata, giclee print that measures 12 x 12 inches over all. Printed on acid free paper with archival inks. This image is a true collab as half is my version and the other half is Paul's take on Kaiju Eyezon. This unique offer is limited to 30 pieces ( each print is numbered 1-30 )

"Dead By Gun" x Secret Base LED Skullbrain!!

picture1hj2 400x299

The latest LED toy by Secret Base was announced today. It is the "Dead By Gun" version Skullbrain. Clear pink vinyl with black and white details and GID spray on the inside. When you shake it, the LED inside flashes potentially throwing you into an epileptic seizure so beware. The good news is that the LED flash then charges the GID spray on the inside for a alien-like glow when the flashes and your seizure subsides. 6,969 Yen which is a bit high, but apparently it comes complete with a Dead By Gun CD. Please release a cheaper version sans the CD.

Newcomer "Gonk" on Skullbrain and his eagle eyes somehow spotted this very interesting collaboration between Medicom Toys and Gargamel on this really interesting full size Zagoran. There is so much to like about this piece. Clear GID with pink spray and guts. How cool is that? Looks like 100 made (which is a decent size run) and will be released at Medicom's retail store 1/6 in Japan on February 2nd!! You can feel the panic starting to set in for the Zag fans!!! LOL.....

Super 7's Midnight Marauder Squirm!!!!

mm_squirm

Super7 is proud to present the MIDNIGHT MARAUDER SQUIRM!!

Squirm is the brand-new next character in Super7's SNAKES OF INFINITY line of soft vinyl Fight Figures. Designed by Brian Flynn and sculpted by Cosmo Liquid, the Midnight Marauder Squirm is 4.5" tall and cast in black vinyl with yellow spray.

The Snakes of Infinity are a near endless team of monster villains set upon conquering the world as part of the secret evil organization, D.A.R.K. (Diabolical Animal Regenerative Killers). D.A.R.K. is led by the maniacal scientist Dr. Killgore, who creates each monster with a terrifying mix of man and beast. The Snakes of Infinity appear to rise from the shadows of the world, ready to strike at any moment, and when one monster dies, three others seemingly take its place.

Will the world ever be safe again? Or will D.A.R.K.ness and their Zombie henchmen rule forever?

The MIDNIGHT MARAUDER SQUIRM will be offered for sale at $50 from the Super7 Store and Distribution Network, Saturday January 26, 11am Pacific.

Lucha Libre Kozik Usagi-Gon!!!

IMG_1848 400x599

This piece started out as a milky "Kaiju for Grown Ups" Kozik Usagi-Gon. It ended up being a Lucha Libre Usagi-Gon!!! I was inspired as I was watching "Nacho Libre" the other night on cable. I thought it might be cool to try and replicate Lucha Libre mask on the monster rabbit. I love the gold glitter fins on his back, the detailing on his chest and of course the aztec ruby eyes!!

Upper Playground Apparel !!!

IMG_1867 400x599

If you live in San Francisco, you have probably heard of Upper Playground in the lower Haight. It's the umbrella for an art gallery, film production studio, retail store, book publisher, toy producer, furniture producer and all around haven for noted and up and coming artists from around the world. On any given art show opening, Skullbrainers and Super 7 staff can be found hanging outside their Fifty24SF gallery. Dora Drimalas, the other half to Brian Flynn, has many designs on sale at Upper Playground as well....

This New Era hat is designed by Alex Pardee: from his website: Alex Pardee’s unique style is one conceived through watching years of horror movies, writing graffiti, and listening to gangster rap. His work best represents that of avibrant undead circus sideshow. Final pieces are often brought to life by translating random shapes and colors into signs of torment and absurdity. By juxtaposing these two conflicting moods, Alex makes his works more personal to his viewers, forcing them to project their own feelings and emotions onto each character in his twisted universe.

I recently purchased this hoody designed by The Date Farmers, Carlos Ramirez and Armando Lerma of Coachella Valley often collaborate in their art, collage, drawings, and words on discarded signs. Reminiscent of Mexican Revolutionary posters, Ramirez and Lerma explore the essential reality of the roots of California past and present culture.. I've gotta say that this is one of the best hoodies i've ever worn...heavy, thick, soft and luxurious. I'm wearing it as I type. I could sleep in this thing. Amazing quality with every single design element embroidered into huge patches. At only $80, this beats the shit out of a $400 Bounty Hunter hoodie or any of the other outrageously priced crap on Hypebeast.
