OUTER SPACE MEN at SDCC 2012: Alpha Phase Wave 5

Four Horseman x Onell Design x OUTER SPACE MEN. It's become traditional for Four Horsemen to release the new Wave of figures in "Alpha Phase" which means unpainted clear. I love 'em as they look like gummy candy. This year it's Wave 5 which includes Gemini, Orbitron and the mighty Cyclops. Personally Cyclops makes this set. A much larger figure relative to the rest, it's the largest figure in the entire series.

Outer Space Men Wave 5 Alpha Phase Pre-Order...!!

This release features the following Outer Space Men:

GEMINI - He'll be cast in a clear yellow plastic with purple painted eyes and clear green ABS plastic accessories and helmets. Hidden behind each of the little green ABS buttons on his chest and back are Glyos sockets so you can build and re-design him to your hearts content! He'll also include a second set of arms, which are not pictured in the image below.

ORBITRON - He'll be cast in a clear pink plastic with blue painted eyes and chest dome. His accessories will be clear green ABS plastic. He also has a secret hidden feature which we're going to reveal sometime next week!

CYCLOPS - Our very first "deluxe" Outer Space Man, not only is he massive compared to the other Outer Space Men, but he comes decked out with lots of goodies! He'll be cast in a clear light blue plastic and his accessories and outer helmet will be clear green ABS plastic. His chest/back armor and inner helmet are fully removable so you can create a completely different look for the character. He also features another set of "open" hands which aren't shown in the image below.

Each figure will come in individual bags with card toppers and card-backs inserted into each bag. The cost will be $50.00 per set of all three figures (plus shipping & handling charges).

New Outer Space Men Test Shots and Cosmic Creators Series Revealed..!!

We just got test shots in of Outer Space Men, Orbitron and Gemini and our first Deluxe Outer Space Man, Cyclops in at the studio yesterday and we couldn't wait any longer to show them off to you!

They're really beautiful and we were amazed at the heft of Cyclops when you hold him in your hand. As you can see from the photos below, he's massive compared to the other OSM done so far. He'll make a worthy adversary for the upcoming Colossus Rex for sure!

As for the Alpha Phase wave which will be released at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con and sold through Store Horsemen, we've decided on colors for each of the characters...

This Friday, February 10th at 7PM EST, the Four Horsemen and Toy Tokyo will open the doors at the Toy Tokyo Underground Gallery to unveil Toypocalypse 2: Futuretro, a celebration of 45 years of The Outer Space Men and a rare look inside the creative powerhouse known as Four Horsemen Studios.

America's foremost Action Figure sculptors, the fabulous Four Horsemen and the amazing Onell Designs are recreating The Outer Space Men. Having finished sculpting 10 of the original 13, they recently requested photos of the remaining 3. Therefore, Mel Birnkrant, creator of the OSM, set about taking photographs, and supplying everything they need. In the process, he realized that no one, not even the Four Horsemen, has ever seen the “Cyclops”, complete with all his accessories, before. Furthermore, at the very back of his Outer Space Men drawer, he discovered a pack of 35mm slides that show more of the original clay models as they looked when they first arrived from Hong Kong in 1969.

Thus, a new website was born: Welcome to "The Outer Space Men ANNEX”, a place to post and preserve additional OSM artifacts and lore. Here you will see everything the Four Horsemen will receive to aid them in the recreation of the remaining Outer Space Men.
