Toys of the Week Episode 3: Panzer Ace by Atomic Mushroom

Panzer Ace Preview

The wait is almost over. Robert DeCastro of Atomic Mushroom felt sorry for me as I couldn't wait to get my grubby mits on his upcoming Panzer Ace robot from his line of "GO-BOLTS". This is a Production Sample so pretty much exactly what you're gonna get when it comes out in April. If you have been following the progress of the Panzer ACE on toybot studios, you can see he's come a long way. Like I mention in the video, the Panzer Ace is my favorite robot to come out of Atomic Mushroom.

And check out these illustrations of the next two proposed mechs from the GO-BOLTS line up...!! The first looks to be a mini size guy - the MIGZ...much smaller than the OG Combat R-Zero.

Then this "Ultra Buster" behemoth...much larger than both the Panzer Ace and Combat-R Zero. ok, the amount of vinyl that will have to go into this guy is scary.

Panzer Ace Fully Painted Prototype by Atomic Mushroom Toys

Panzer Ace by Atomic Mushroom

Check out the fully painted resin prototype for the amazing upcoming Panzer Ace from Robert De Castro's Atomic Mushroom. Notice the wonderful paint application with the subtle shading effect. I'm hoping the production version will have this kind of paint application. I love everything about this toy and want it now. I think I might even like the Panzer just a tiny bit more than the CRZ...

Introducing "Panzer Ace" the newest addition to our Superhero robot line. Standing at around 21 cm. tall with three points of articulation and a removable jump pack. It is slated for early an 2010 release and will be limited to 250 pieces for this first colorway. Pre-viewed here is resin prototype from the factory which will be used in the tooling phase to develop the metal rotocast molds.

Panzer Ace is one of Combat R Zero's ally in the battle against the evil Tyran invaders. Officialy designated as "CR-1" in the developing background story "GO-BOLTS", Panzer Ace is actually one of the first five super robots developed before Combat R Zero. CR-5 (yet to be named) was the first to have been built.

Unlike Combat R Zero, Panzer Ace is more of a land based mech specializing in heavy weapons such as missiles and its very powerful main cannon on it's chest. Not capaoble of sustained flight, CR-1 does have a very powerful jump pack enabling it to leap across great distances. Stay tuned for a possible comic book series on the adventures of Combat R Zero, Panzer Ace and the rest of the GO-BOLT robots!

Robert De Castro's new Panzer ACE!!!

Robert De Castro Panzer ACE

Robert De Castro of Atomic Mushroom Toys has been busy as a robot creating his 2nd mech called Panzer ACE..!! This guy has tractor treads ala the classic Getter 3 and sporting a mohawk. A very cool and complimentary design that will fit right in with the existing Combat-R Zero line-up. Apparently there will be a run of 250 with a 2010 release in this blue colorway. I can hardly wait.

Atomic Mushroom Combat-R Zero Ready to DEPLOY!!!!

IMG_2681 400x599

The dream of one Robert De Castro has finally been realized! His toy company Atomic Mushroom is now online and accepting orders for the amazing Combat-R Zero Robot. I have been looking forward to this toy since forever and my other toys are shivering on the shelf as these guys approach! When my set arrived in a TV size box, I knew this was serious business. Although I have seen size comparison shots, nothing prepares you for the mass of vinyl that is Combat-R Zero. Not only are these guys HUGE, they are HEAVY. They are 2 or 3 pounds each!! Best toy value pound for pound out there. In hand, they feel solid, they look amazing, the quality is very high, paint applications very good. Nice articulation. I'm a fan and so should you be. I'm bummed that there are no clears, but really looking forward to future colorways or even better, a VILLIAN Mech!! Congrats Robert for making a dream become reality!!!
