Bay Area Skull Krew Tradefest 2012...!!

We kicked off the New Year in fine sofubi fashion with our first Bay Area Skullbrainer Tradefest....!! It was perfect weather and a great day to meet up with old and new Skullbrainers. I can't say the trades were fast and furious, but I was able to pull off a new Secret Base Skullman trade with Bert. Highlights was hanging out with old friends and meeting new. Plus the Kaiju gift exchange. Pretty much everyone liked what they got. I scored a clear gold sparkle Gargamel Gatchamecha. Stoked!

Bay Area Skull Krew Tradefest @ Super 7...!!

Last saturday witnessed the largest Tradefest ever of the Bay Area Skull Krew (BASK). We are the hometown Skullbrainers. The number of locals that showed up was huge as was the volume of toys. Not only were there trades a plenty, but lots of give aways from people like Brian, Grace, Dril just to name of a few. Thanks to Glenn, Brian and Alex for getting the coffee, donuts and Miette choco cake for our geekdom.









Paul Kaiju had four different versions of his HP Partyballs on sale for nearly retail price...!! Awesome.

Lots of Super 7 Goodness Coming Your Way

Tradefest returns to Super 7 tomorrow March 27th at 10am. Not only will there be cupcakes and macaroons from Miette, there will be custom Partyball toys from the legendary Paul Kaiju. Bring toys to trade...! Bring your favorite toy as well and become immortalized forever in Bay Area Skull Krew history. You don't want to miss this!



Spring is here and with it come these two very Easter Egg like Pocket Mummy Boys..! Release details soon. Definitely in April.



Joshua Herbolsheimer with his first solo show at Super 7 on April 17th. Titled "WeirdEarth". What could be more fitting for someone that is always painting the cosmos. Why? Cause Earth is weird feako! More importantly, the show will mark the release date for the latest Outerspace Rose Vampire.

BASK Tradefest @ Super 7

Last Saturday was probably the best Tradefest i've ever attended. I'm not sure why. Call it the perfect storm if you will. Some collectors flush with toys from SDCC looking to unload what they regret spending too much money on (me). Some guys who haven't been to S7 in a while looking to see what's new and what could be haggled for. It great to see some old faces and some new tradebait. While the quality of the company was suspect, the quality of the toys was beyond reproach. I mean there was some seriously good shit in everyone's pile and there were probably 10-12 piles to choose from. I wouldn't say trades were fast and furious at the get go, as the Bay Area Crew are a specific bunch, but with gems from the likes of the infamous Glenn and even B.Flynn himself, it was difficult not to want to get the trading juices flowing. I would say there were numerous trades and sometimes complicated four way trades even like below! All in all, good times and great trades. Bay Area Skullbrain New Years Trade Fest!!

We started off the New Year right with a much long over due Trade Fest!! Even if one trade was made, I would consider the event a success! Luckily I was able to make a great trade with Akum6n and I hear tales of others that made multiple trades! Huzzah! Sadly, no one had an extra kidney or first born child that Joe Bunny wanted for the Bemon above.

Toygraph Godzilla and Diver Set. Historical note: This is the set that started the whole Space Troopers line! When this set first came out, everyone loved the little diver cause he looked like a spaceman.





This really interesting clay set was not for sale or trade. hmmph...
