Bandai Super Robot Chogokin is doing this awesome Mazinger Z x Devilman variant to celebrate Devilman's 40th Anniversary. Hard to imagine anything cooler.

Super Robot Chogokin Armored Core V UCR-10/A

Big news for all you Armored Core fans. Bandai is doing an Armored Core figure as part of its Super Robot Chogokin line-up. This means a pretty nice action figure with some die-cast in it. Not as nice as the Soul of Chogokin line, but close. Armored Core was one of the series I collected early on. I have several action figures and plenty of the mini-figures. To see Armored Core finally get the partial die-cast treatment is long overdue. I'm stoked. Classic design with an impressive array of weapons. Purchase the optional mega-weapon and you have an insane six-bladed chain saw. Pre-order this figure and extra weapon over at AmiAmi for around $47 and $27 respectively. Due out late June, 2012.

Bandai Tamashii Nations Previews

Bandai's Tamashii Nations has a bunch of previews for upcoming toys. Here are the one's i'm waiting for.

Super Robot Chogokin Alteisen Nacht. I literally just busted out the first version of this toy the other day (OG Red). It's pretty awesome. Heavy, lots of die-cast. A really great toy. To have the blue or night version (Nacht) with a sword is the perfect follow-up. Unfortunately, will have to wait until September when it releases. ¥5,250 yen








The Robot Spirits ZEGAPAIN. This design is really interesting. I haven't seen the anime, but I like the translucent plastic. Also due in September for ¥5,250


Composite Ver.Ka Robo Nagato. I have the first version of this figure and while I think it's cool, it's a bit too fragile and flimsy. You look at the thing wrong and parts fall off. Is it too much to ask to make a toy that you can actually play with? Will probably pass on this. Also due out in September. Price TBD.

New Super Robot Chogokin Revealed: Mazinkaiser SKL...!!

Bandai is not messing around with it's new Super Robot Chogokin line. Slightly smaller than Soul of Chogokin but still made with die-cast, they a little less expensive too. Gotta hand it to Bandai for knowing how to milk their licenses. We all have all these robots, but but we happily buy them all over again in a slightly smaller size..!

But the good news here is that Bandai is including never seen before licenses such as the new Mazinkaiser SKL which is based on the new anime. I'm really digging the new design that has the skull / horror / goth thing going on. No details yet on release date.
