Ralph also worked for various advertising agencies in Cleveland as a designer and illustrator. He held a post as Art Director of Learning Horizons, a children’s educational products company of American Greetings. He has done development work for Warner Bros., Disney, Cartoon Network, and Revolution Studios. His characters including Honk-Honk-Ashoo have been licensed as toy lines in Target. His self-produced Kaiju Kidz toys sold out at retailers such as Kid Robot and Tower Records. He currently works as a Senior Designer at Hallmark Cards where he creates characters, flash animated e-cards and books. Ralph is the author and illustrator of various children’s books including The Story of Honk-Honk-Ashoo and Swella-Bow-Wow, The Marvelous Misadventures of Fun-Boy, Batman: The Story of The Dark Knight, Superman: The Story of the Man of Steel and Wonder Woman: The Story of the Amazon Princess.

"These were a series of small paintings I did for a Kaiju ( Japanese for monsters ) show in Japan curated by Mark Nagata a few years ago. I’m pretty passionate about Japanese monster films and toys along with American characters like Mickey Mouse and thought it would be interesting to create hybrid creatures from some of the most popular characters of the east and west. Not only is Ralph one of the nicest, down to earth guys i've ever met, he's mad, mad talented. He's a super collector that designs and produces his own toys including the Kaiju Kidz series. He also writes and illustrates children's books...! He recently landed a deal with DC to publish "Batman: Story of the Dark Knight"

Ralph Cosentino is a super nice guy, avid toy collector, toy designer, illustrator, animator, you name it! So when he showed me his latest project which is doing an Star Wars e-card for Hallmark, I was impressed. Beautiful in simple, stylized, kiddy way, it's pretty funny too.

The Star Wars Wicket and Chewie animation / e-card I had been working on late last year is finally up and posted on Hallmarks site. If I had a little more time I would have liked to have added a few more sound effects however, I think it turned out pretty good. Wicket and Chewie were a blast to work on and I was super excited that Lucas liked the designs and approved them along with the initial animatic I did below. The story, art, directing and key frame poses/animation were done by me based on my animatic, all in vector with a few raster files for texture. A big thanks to my pal Will Sanchez for doing the in between animation and really plusing it all up, Will’s a jedi animator! I’m hoping I can do more of these e-cards with a variety of characters from the Star Wars universe. I have a bunch of ideas brewing so I know the force is with me! LOL!
