Where do you find your inspiration? How does this influence your work?
I think that I find inspiration in everything, but It’s natural, there are things that interest’s me more, specially in the 60´s and 70´s Japanese cartoons and TV shows that I saw on TV when I was a child, and Americans programs too of course. Programs like Astroboy, Magma Taishi, Ultraman, etc. I also find inspiration in my collection of Japanese vinyl kaiju toys, I collected it since 90’s. I have more than 3000 kaiju toys, which much of them are limited, vintage and relative new. My experience of life is a source of inspiration too, the richness of the different ways and visions of the reality, and how it those change constantly. And in another artists, to mentioned some of them, Jeff Koons, Paul McCarthy, Arturo Herrera, Andy Warhol, Mike Kelly, etc.









How would you describe your work? What are your figures about? What do you enjoy about your work?
My sculptures are about symbolic projections that can exist in other worlds and, or maybe, they come from the collective unconscious, who knows. For example, The Magical Vagina for me is the meaning of life, transformation, the vindication of the feminine and it’s power.

Carlos Enriquez 1:1 Scale Vagina Monster!!

Artist Carlos Enriquez has gone lifesize with one of his characters in this insane 1:1 Vagina Monster! It's made of fiberglass and handpainted. From Mishka Bloglin:

In the work “MAGICAL VAGINA” the artist intends to embody one of these ideas: vagina as the giver of life, a symbolic tunnel through which we can go from one world to another, birth, death, transformation. In a world in which the culture of the phallic has been imposed and the vagina mistreated and denigrated to the point of being seen as something vulgar or pornographic, arises the proposal of its vindication to take her to the same level of equality with the phallic symbol, its encephalic body and its standing posture point out the thinking presence, that feels, that observes its surroundings with her attentive eye and wants to be acknowledged, respected, “the vagina life giver, powerful, exists, feels, wants to be loved without having to hide, enables rebirth, generates life. I intend the confrontation with the free spectator, give him something that invites him to reflect about the theme on how this feminine organ has been mistreated and denigrated, because the vagina can connect us with the most pure, powerful and mysterious forces of the universe, God present? The vagina has been wounded for a long time, “skimmed blood.”



Carlos will be featured in a Phillips De Pury show featuring Latin American artists in October in New York. This piece could fetch as much as $32,000 or more!

Leecifer Resin Cast "Mo" and Painting for Phillips De Pury Auction London Mar 9!!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce Lee Gajda aka Leecifer's first Resin cast sculpture based on his artwork. The figure it titled "Malpas Moe" and the painting is titled "Returning Home". Malpas is a fallen angel that can appear as a crow. From the looks of things, he also can appear as a blocky elephant from Easter Island! ahem....sorry. Lee created this set for the next Phillips De Pury Auction to be held in London on March 9th. Congratulations Lee...looks awesome!!
