Kaiyodo Revoltech BAPE Milo

It was bound to happen. With Kaiyodo running out of characters to license for their Revoltech line, it was inevitable that something like this would happen. Why not? Revoltech Milo. Complete with camo guitar, BAPE lightning star logo, bananas and hat.

Two great things about this toy:

1. Limited articulation so you don't need to worry about posing him using those finnicky revoltech joints.

2. This is probably going to be the least expensive BAPE item you can buy. That is unless it's $250 or something whack like that.

As a way to usher in the New Year, A Bathing Ape is making the second part of its Star Wars collaboration available at select BAPE retail outlets in Japan. Similar to George Lucas’ space sage, this latest collection focus mostly on “Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back” with Baby Milo taking center stage as both Hans Solo (sealed in carbonite ) and an officer of the Imperial fleet. Much sought after by both Star Wars fans and BAPE followers, the collection just made its early debut on New Year’s Day in Japan with world wide release coming soon in the weeks ahead.

Custom KAWS x BAPE Milo Dissected by Keithing

ToyQube is releasing a set of 8 custom painted Dissected Milos by Keithing (Keith Poon) on Friday 6/10/11 at 10am PDT. All handpainted with acrylic giving it a wooden washed out texture. The green paint is GID. Price unknown. Looks ok, but not totally into the whole "wooden" treatment. Especially since KAWS just released the real wood Companion for like $3k. Would have been more interested to see a distressed metal look here.

KAWS x BAPE Dissected Milos... IN HAND..!!

I'm not lucky with Kawsone. So when I saw the pre-order for the Black Dissected Milo at TOY QUBE, I had to pull the trigger. Although I was paying around $85 more, I had to lock it down. I resisted the urge to also pre-order the brown version and thought to myself I would try to score one at retail on Kawsone later. I was hedging my bets. I wasn't feeling the mono and didn't want to spend that much.

They went on sale at Kawsone and I was finally able to get the brown version in my cart, but had trouble checking out. I didn't panic and was patient and tried to re-load the page. After several frustrating attempts, somehow the toy gods smiled on me and put the order through. Based on what i've been told, I was smart to lock down the Black and lucky to get the brown.

These fuckers are expensive. Way more expensive than any production toy should be, but I really love them. One of my favorite toys right now. I've wanted this toy ever since the t-shirts came out last year. They are not tall, but chunky. 7 1/2 inches tall. Around 6 inches wide at the bones. Highly detailed in the guts and tendons. The head is huge. Like a big grapefruit. The proportions to the body are outlandish and perfect.

To me, this is the quintessential KAWS toy.

Thanks to fellow Skullbrainer Winu, we have one of the first picture of the actual toy. KAWS x BAPE Milo Dissected. Looks sick. If really 8" tall, this dude is gonna be wide. I'm really looking forward to this guy. Have been since I first saw the illustration. I've always liked Milo. But never could drop the $150-$200 on the tiny mini. This makes up for it all. Shit, now I want all three. Hedged my bet by Pre-Ordering the must have Black on ToyQube for $265. You can pre-order the set for $750 at both ToyQube or Toy Tokyo. Hoping to get lucky on the Brown and Grey when they go up on KAWSONE.com around Feb. 26th.
